World Mental Health Day

Hi friends, Dottie here.

No doubt about it, this year has been very a difficult and different time as a result of the pandemic. We had to reevaluate our lives and adapt to safety precautions like wearing masks and social distancing. We had to go through a lot of unforeseen changes and provide support to those in need. Now more than ever, mental health is something that we need to understand and accept.

October 10th is World Mental Health Day. Mental health can take the form of depression, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, phobias, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. The most common form are anxiety disorders.

Mental health impacts everyone. World Mental Health Day is a great way for you to become more aware and educated on the topic and reach out to those in need. Even the smallest acts of support can make a huge difference.

A great resource for students to use during a time of need is Cook Counseling Center. There you can find information and resources on coping with COVID, virtual coping, and other mental health support resources.

Just know, you are supported!

xoxo, Dottie.
