Hi friends, Dottie here!

Summer is in full swing here in the ‘Burg, and what better time to stretch out your feathers and soak up some sun than right now? Blacksburg is home to all 4 beautiful seasons, but when the weather is warm all of the scenic outdoor features it has to offer really come out to shine! Here are some of my favorite activities for summertime in Blacksburg. feel Free to share some of your own in the comments below!

  1. Go fishing at Pandapas Pond

Surrounded by a number of excellent hiking and biking trails, Pandapas Pond is a favorite spot for many recreation goers in the Blacksburg area. On top of this, it also offers an excellent place to fish or canoe for those of you looking for a water adventure!

  1. Hike McAfee’s Knob

McAfee’s Knob is one of the most beautiful and scenic overlooks that can be found on the Appalachian Trail. It is located on Catawba Mountain and has views of many surrounding natural views, such as the Shenandoah Valley, Tinker Cliffs, and the Roanoke Valley.

  1. Take a winery tour

Blacksburg, the New River Valley, and the surrounding area has so many options in the way of wineries. Whether you’re looking to make a day of hopping from one winery to the next, or traveling a little further for a day trip to one of your favorites, Blacksburg has you covered!
