Dottie's Friday Favorites: Fall is Here

Hey guys, welcome to Friday Favorites with Dottie! Today I want to tell you guys a little bit about my favorite season. Can you guess it? I’ll give you a hint…. Crunchy leaves, crisp air, sweater weather. Of course, it’s fall. Fall is the best time of the year, especially in Blacksburg. The trees turn maroon and orange (the best colors ever), weekends are filled with Hokie football, and scary movies are on for an entire month! And there are pumpkins everywhere. Pumpkin coffee, pumpkin pie, pumpkin candles, pumpkin décor. OH! And don’t forget Halloween. Man, I love Halloween. I think the spookiest costume I’ve ever seen was a hunter. It was absolutely terrifying.

As a Hokie, there are so many events you can get involved in during the fall. You can go pumpkin picking at Sinkland Farms in Christiansburg (I love pumpkins, okay?), go to an apple orchard at Doe Creek Farms, visit the Blacksburg Farmer’s Market for some fresh Thanksgiving ingredients, go hiking in the beautiful mountains or riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway, or you can come to Lane Stadium on most Saturdays and see me! You can also take in the beautiful Virginia Tech fall scenery by strolling through campus. It’s hard to be stressed when the campus is so beautiful.

Fall also means hoodie weather! So comfy. You can gather around a campfire in your favorite Virginia Tech hoodie and roast s’mores. You can also tell the greatest tales of them all: The Legend of the Wahoo Victory and How the Hokies Overcame the Buckeyes. Pretty great stories if you ask me. Legend has it that the Wahoo Victory has yet to be seen. Who knows?

Overall, I just adore fall. It’s colorful, magical, eventful, and filled with the best foods and aromas possible. The fashion is great, the food is great, the football is great. Everything about fall is great. Right now, there’s a pile of colorful leaves waiting to be jumped in. I must go! Until next time Hokies. See you next Friday!

Xoxo,

Dottie
