Blacksburg Partnership Hokies Fly the Nest

Have you ever wondered about the faces behind some of your favorite Blacksburg accounts? This group of interns have been tirelessly working at the Blacksburg Partnership all year on Brew Do, Fork and Cork, Restaurant Week, Gobble de Art, and everything else Blacksburg related! They are getting ready to graduate in just a few days and although we will miss them, we are so excited to see what gobble-tastic things they will accomplish! Here’s a couple of our senior spotlights:

Senior Spotlight: Jamie Bell

Major: Business Information Technology

Q: What are your post-graduation plans?

A: I’m coming back to Virginia Tech for grad school because I love Tech too much to leave!

Q: What is your favorite bird?

A: The "Traveling Hokie Bird," because I love to travel and I hope to after graduation.

Q: What will you miss most about Virginia Tech?

A: Just the entire experience of being here in Blacksburg, but mostly the relationships I’ve created and the Hokie experiences we’ve had together.

Q: What has been your favorite part about interning at the Blacksburg Partnership?

A: Being involved in the community that has welcomed me in as a student for the past few years and being able to help make this place better.

 

Senior Spotlight: Taylor Comer

Major: Natural Resources Conservation and Recreation Management, Marine Fisheries Conservation Management

Q: What are your post-graduation plans?

A: I will be going to Colombia to do missions work through the Assemblies of God Church.

Q: What is your favorite bird?

A:  The "Gentleman’s Manor" Bird is my favorite because I love a man in a suit.

Q: What will you miss most about Virginia Tech?

A:  I will miss being really close to the people that have become my family for the past four years and seeing the beautiful mountains.

Q: What has been your favorite part about interning at the Blacksburg Partnership?

A: I love event planning and being able to help with our big festivals. I also love to laminate things.

 

Senior Spotlight: Cheyenne Keys

Major: Hospitality and Tourism Management

 

Q: What are your post-graduation plans?

A: I am doing a 6 month manager in training program at Cullasaja Country Club in Highlands, North Carolina.

Q: What is your favorite bird?

A: “Search for the Red Baron” bird because he’s cute and ready for adventure!

Q: What will you miss most about Virginia Tech?

A: The community that I have found at the BCM during my time with campus ministry, and just the experience of the warmth of other Hokies.

Q: What has been your favorite part about interning at the Blacksburg Partnership?

A: Coming up with ideas for Restaurant Week and taking pictures of all of the great food at the restaurants in town.
