About the Project
The Gobblers came to Blacksburg and the people came for the Gobblers. The Gobble de Art public art project placed seventy-five fabulously decorated Hokie Bird statues all around Blacksburg during the Summer and Fall of 2006. The birds generated plenty of interest and excitement around town. The summer of the Hokie Bird was capped off by the Gobble Gala and Auction. Most of the Gobblers have been purchased and have been placed in permanent homes.
